For live music events that require significant mic inputs, the portable stagebox can be set up to put all of the mic inputs into one location. To do this, follow the instructions below and then refer to the patching and general setup information.
Start by setting up the portable stage box in the theater near one of the audio panels with 4 available mic lines
Connect a data cable to the stage box in the main port and then patch that to one of the data tie lines in the nearest audio patch panel. The swtich should be set to main.
Connect XLR cables to output 10, 11 and 12 and patch those to mic lines in the nearest audio patch panel. These will be your L / R and Mono speaker outputs from the console. Remember which mic line that you've plugged into so that you can patch it correctly in the amp room.
in MB 1 and 3, you can connect output 9 to use for the mono speaker.
In MB 2, you can connect to output 1 which is the foldback speakers.
Plug the stagebox into one of the orange audio power outlets.
In the amp room, you will need to patch the data tie you used to connect to the stage box to the MADI port in the data patch panel.
Port 48 is labeled MADI and is the rep patch setup. Take that cable and move it from port 48 to the appropriate location.
Next you will need to patch the outputs from the portable stage box to the amps.
First unplug the XLR cables from the relevant mic lines on the permanent stage box. In this photo, it happens to be mic line 1 - 4.
Next, disconnect the XLR cables from outputs 5, 6, 7 & 8 from the permanent stage box. In Matchbox 2, you can also disconnect output 1 which will be used for the on stage fold back. (as seen in previous photo)
Connect the mic line that you patched into in the audio panel in the room to the corresponding output cable as described below. You're bypassing the permanent stage box, and sending the L, R, C signal from the portable to the amps in the rack.
This is where you need to have remembered which portable stagebox output you've plugged into each mic line.

The speakers will hum if the sound board is off. Once turned on, the hum will go away.
For rentals that are more than one day, please turn off the stage box at the end of the night so that the speakers don't hum all night.
Rep setup for audio should be restored at the end of any rental using the portable stage box. Please reconnect all audio and data connections.
